What would you say if I would tell you that there is a way to stay healthy and feel young and fresh every day? This utopia of body health we all desire is behind a very big door, and a raw food diet is the key to that. With it your energy levels skyrocket, (you’ll need less sleep too!), your reactions and thoughts will be clearer and faster and your skin will fit your body better, you will no longer be puffy with toxins, or bulging with excess fat.
The concept of eating raw is not as new as you may think, but it has gained a lot of popularity during recent times owing to its unquestionable benefits on health. Before they discovered fire, raw foods are everything our ancestors used to live on. The chemicals of natural foods change from their original state when they have been processed and/or heated to high temperatures. Processed foods lose a lot of the essential vitamins, minerals and all the beneficial elements for our bodies.
Raw food is full with everything that made the roots grow in the first place: life force, enzymes, water, oxygen, hormones, vitamins and minerals and so much more.
Your transitional phase into living Raw will be hard, because after a life-time of eating meats, chemical and additive laden food, plunging into a totally raw food diet without the right mindset and preparation is not recommended. Unless you are highly motivated, most people revert back to their old habits within the first week, if not earlier. So it’s crucial to understand what this process means and to align yourself internally as well as externally, and that will form your foundation for success.
Before becoming raw you need to “rebuild” your fridge and start from scratch. Forget all the chemical aliments and all the junk food. Start feeling younger and better by filling your fridge with raw foods. I will help you with some tips to do this. Here are some raw aliments that you can use on your way to a raw life:
Avocado is a must have- you should buy it from the store 3-7 days before( they need to ripen). With it the risk of cholesterol will decrease. In South Africa it is used as an aphrodisiac, it’s creamy and wonderful in a salad, guacamole, cake cream... and you can clean it very easily. You can get avocados from nearly all supermarkets and grocery stores.
Bananas: You should buy also 3-7 days before you plan on eating them(they need to ripen). The skin needs to be intense yellow or even brown) In the ripen size the bananas contain natural antibiotics.
Cocoa ��" Cocoa is a super food- exists in the organic variant which is not raw and you can find it in the bio shops.
Raw caju- It is used in cheese cream, garlic cream, and desserts.
Moisturized onion ��" If you don’t have confidence in what the traders put in their colourful sachets, you can use it to make onion powder.
Green onion or Red Onion: they are used in raw diets as spices, also white onion is used.
Moisturized chili : It’s used to make pepper boya.
Spices: The base list contains: caraway, coriander, pepper, rosemary, basil, oregano, dill, parsley, tarragon, cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, hot boya, sweet boya and garlic powder.
Inactive Yeast : Yeast is not a raw product, yet we use it, in small amounts for the taste that gives to cheese creames. Plus it has a lot of benefits.
Raw pistachios : This might become your favourite snack in the first weeks of raw.
Coconut flakes : You can use it for cookies, avoid the sweetened version.
Organic wheat : It can be used in crackers, it can be eaten grilled in salads, and you can make bread. The benefits that they have to our organism are already known.
Organic buckwheat : germinates and sprouts quickly; it’s great in crackers, cereal and it’s full with health benefits.
Organic kamut : it’s a sort of wheat but much healthier and is poorer on gluten. It’s softer than wheat and it grows faster.
Lemons : they are used in all the raw recepies as spices. We already know that the lemons helped the sailors of scurvy, and it has many other propieties. The best thing to have in the morning is a hot glass of water with a few drops of lemon.
Mango : Must be bought 3-7 days in advance( they need to ripen).
Natural olive : the little olives, green-brown colour.
These are some of the ingredients that you need to have in your fridge so that you can start a good raw food diet. Think about all the benefits you can have and how many good things could happen to your health if you start living life as it should be, but it will be tough to change your habits.
You have heard stories about people from the past that had better health than an average human, and lived for much longer too, why and how do you think they lived like that? When I first tried this raw food i was very skeptical because I thought how can anyone eat like that when we can cook the food and it’s 100% tastier, but i was wrong. Actually when you eat raw, you choose „life”.WOW!! When you think about life, think about a brand new you, a healthier, stronger and younger YOU. Live food will nourish you at a deep level( deeper than any junk or cooked food will ever reach!) and at the same it will start the magic that I was talking about. This magic will do miracles on your body. But as you know, not everyhing is „milk and honey”so you might get some reactions as the toxins and debris begin to leave your body and the raw food start to cleanse your system, and you may experience some detoxification symptoms such as: diarrhoea, rashes, pimples, headaches, etc.. These are usually rare and shouldnt worry you, but it’s better that you are aware of them. If you do experience these reactions then look at it as all the horrible things in your body leaving, so no matter how wierd you feel, at least your body will be for the better.
The best thing that a raw food diet can guarantee you is that you’ll be very glad and proud of yourself as soon as you will start! It’s like you always wanted something but you never tried it so you can’t feel the benefits until you will be part of it.
