Pawan Bansal conferred ‘Sher-e- Chandigarh’ by Sports cell
Chandigarh,May 31,2009-The Sports cell of the Chandigarh Territorial Youth Congress led by its President Mr Balwinder Singh Johal honoured Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mr Pawan Kumar Bansal by presenting
him a memento with a title ‘Sher- e - Chandigarh’ at latter’s residence on Sunday. A large number of sportspersons were also present to congratulate Mr Bansal on his elevation to Cabinet Minister and Other prominent members of
the sports cell who honoured Mr Bansal during this occasion Mr Deepak Agnihotri, Vice-Chairman and President
CYC Mr HS Lucky. Mr Arvind Katyal a former national player who was also present said Mr Bansal had alwaysstood for the genuine rights of the city sportspersons.
Mr Johal who is also the President of the Table Soccer Federation of India said Mr Bansal is a genuine sports lover
and has always come forward to help the sports community. Johal said Mr Bansal had laid stress on the grass root
development of sports from school level and he instructed local school administration to include table soccer as one
of the key discipline in its school sports calender.Mr.Yadwinder Singh who is member of the Asia-Oceania Table
Soccer Confederation said city players were honoured by Mr Bansal in a big way last August when they had won
laurels in the VIFA Asia cup-2008.
