The European football season is coming to an end, with the 3 largest European leagues that already

have been decided.Inter Milan won its 4th Seria A title in a row and 17 in total. Without much effort on

Inter’s side, the season was decided when its chief rival AC Milan lost to Udinese, and with it lost the

last chance to catch up. The bad news is that one of the top class players in the last few years, Luis

Figo, announced that he will retire in the end of the season.

TIMOR Leste sizzled as a nine-man Aceh self-destructed in last night’s Arafura Games men’s gold medal

match at Larrakia Park.Aceh replied to Timor’s three second-half goals with three red cards as the

match spiralledfrom brilliant to boorish in the dying minutes. With the match well and truly in Timor

Leste’s possession - courtesy of opportunistic Mazario Do Capmo goal and captain Anggisu Barbosa

penalty early in the second-half - a Joao Paulo goal sealed the fledgling nation its greatest football prize

in history.Even coach Manuel Soares, embarrassed by highlights to choose from as a favourite in the

match, singled the Dili teenager’s effort out as amazing‘That is the moment we can really celebrate

he said.
The grand finale - written as a it were a Hollywood romantic-drama - started even enough.Warning

shots were aplenty, testing the reflexes and nervesof Timor goalkeeper Henrique Oliveira and Aceh’s

Reid Dedi Agustian.Timor’s best chance of the first-half fell to Savio Ximenes who flashed his shot wide

of the far post with only Aceh’s custodian to beat. Some nonchalant defensive work very nearly gifted

Rahman and Aceh the opener in the 37th minute, denied only by desperate defence and an outstretched

hand of Oliveira.
It took only two minutes after the re-start for Timor to break the deadlock with menacing midfielder Do

Capmo nodding in a lose ball from point-blank range.
The second followed soon when captain Barbosa coolly capitalised from the spot, a rash Naza Ruddin

challenge on Bartholomeu Valadaires inside the box left referee Regis Queffelec no option but to award

a penalty. The referee had his work cut out keeping tempers in check, giving Sukman Dinsyah his second

caution and subsequent marching orders soon after.
